The short version:

Hatbox doesn't collect, store, or sell your personal data. Your contacts live on your device, full stop. None of your data is collected or retained by us.

How We Use Information:

We do not collect any personal information about you. Here is a breakdown of what happens with you data:

• Business card images - We do not store these images. They are processed purely to parse the contact information needed to create the contact entry in your app, never retained.
• Parsed contact data - All contact information parsed from the business card images is stored exclusively on your device. It never leaves your phone, unless you export them via the CSV export function.
• iPhone contacts - If you choose to export a tact to your iPhone address book, this action is performed locally on your device. Your address book information is not read nor collected by Hatbox.
• No account required - Since Hatbox relies on on-device data storage, we do not require users to make accounts or profiles, eliminating the need for collecting your name, email, or any other identifying information.
• No analytics or tracking - We do not embed any third-party analytics, crash reporters, or advertising SDKs, eliminating the possibility of data collection towards our users.

In-App Purchases:

Hatbox offers optional premium features available for purchase through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details. Apple's Privacy Policy governs those transactions.

Data Storage & Security:

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. Your scanned contacts are stored in a local database protected by your device's own security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode).

If you delete Hatbox, all locally stored data is removed from your device. There is no cloud backup managed by us to delete from.
